Our gathering is to display the glory of the heavenly kingdom on earth.
1. The Bible has Supreme Authority
We believe the Bible is God's complete revelation to humanity, infallible, inerrant, and clear. We believe that when the Bible speaks, God is speaking to us. Therefore, the teachings of Scripture form the foundation for all conduct at Northwest Chinese Baptist Church.
Biblical Expositional Preaching: We want our church to be known for the faithful proclamation of God’s Word every week. By opening and carefully examining Scripture, we learn how we ought to live each day.
The Bible also guides our actions in all other matters. We practice biblical church membership and church discipline, as well as biblical church governance. We affirm and administer biblical ordinances. We also derive the mission of the church from Scripture and obey it faithfully.
2. The Gospel of Christ is the foundation of the Church
The church was established by the command of Christ. The church was purchased with Christ’s precious blood. Therefore, the church must proclaim the true and clear gospel. If we misunderstand the gospel, everything is in vain. In other words, a church without the gospel—or one that preaches a false gospel—cannot and does not deserve to be called a true church.
Northwest Chinese Baptist Church believes that the gospel of Christ is the foundational core that unites all members. It is the standard of our identity and the focus of our proclamation. At Northwest Chinese Baptist Church, we strive to manifest the gospel of Christ in every ministry.
3. The Church is Composed of True Believers
The Church was established by Christ and has received the keys of the kingdom, existing on earth as a representation of God’s kingdom. Therefore, the church ought to be composed of citizens of this kingdom—people who submit to its constitution, worship its King, proclaim its message, sing its hymns, observe its ordinances, and embody its culture.
Northwest Chinese Baptist Church believes that the church consists of true believers, which is the fundamental way it is set apart from the world. For this reason, we practice biblical church membership and discipline. We affirm that the essence of membership is a declaration of the true gospel. Moreover, a proper understanding of membership and church discipline serves as a vital foundation for fulfilling the Great Commission of evangelism and discipleship.
4. Divine Love is Everywhere
The New Testament repeatedly teaches us that without divine love, all spiritual gifts and abilities amount to nothing, and every ministry loses its meaning. Scripture reveals the immeasurable breadth and depth of God’s love for us and compels us to mirror such love toward others. Divine love is the catalyst and balm for all things—it "covers a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8).
At Northwest Chinese Baptist Church, we are committed to cultivating a culture of evangelism and discipleship rooted in God’s holy love. Through our church membership covenant, we pledge to remind, support, and even admonish one another, ensuring this sacred love flows abundantly among us. We strive to proclaim the gospel to our community through tangible acts of divine love, with one singular goal: to become conduits of grace and love—that others may come to faith in Christ and grow in Him.
5. Soli Deo Gloria!
Human existence is for the glory of God — and so is the church's. We believe that the core mission of the church on earth is to: proclaim the gospel for Christ and make disciples. All of this is to testify to God's salvation and give all glory, honor, and power to Him! Therefore, the Northwest Chinese Baptist Church is committed to urgent evangelism and missionary work, and longs to see the expansion of God's glorious kingdom.
Our gathering is not for ourselves, but for God's kingdom. We strive to obey God's commands in reverence and remain humble in all accomplishments. May all glory be to God! (Soli Deo Gloria!)
